ABOUT CLAIRE
Copywriter. Content whizz. Word magician. Also just a really nice person actually.
copywriting you can trust
I’ve written about every imaginable product and industry, from mops to multi-million-dollar yachts. Long copy, short copy, copy that gets up at 2 am and sells on the other side of the world while you’re fast asleep. And I love it. I love talking with clients, learning about their businesses, delving into the nitty-gritty of their product or service, asking all the hard questions, and then creating finely tuned copy in which every word earns its keep.
Can you trust me though? Well, I’ve whipped up words for big names like Nivea, DeLonghi, and Nestlé, Dove, Wattie’s, and Tourism Holdings Ltd. Check out my portfolio – it’s got the goods.
Plus, I’ve worked with the team of clever creatives at Bauer Media NZ to create awesome advertising for 18 of New Zealand’s best magazines including Listener, North & South, Woman’s Day, Good Health, New Zealand Woman’s Weekly, Australian Women’s Weekly, and Metro.

And when it comes to getting sh*t done efficiently and being annoyingly organised, I’ve got that covered too.
I was the editor of OurAuckland magazine and Motorhomes, Caravans & Destinations magazine (not to brag, but I was finalist for Editor of the Year in 2021) – which basically means I know how to whip up top-notch copy under pressure of dropping deadlines, design disasters, printer panic, pernickety publishers, pandemics, and other such alliterative predicaments.
Oh, and as a bonus, I’m pretty awesome to work with.
In case you're interested
Most expensive thing I’ve ever written about
A $10,000,000 home in Auckland’s Castor Bay. The life-size replica of the stock exchange bull in the hallway was a nice touch.
Sometimes, clothing is optional…
Yes, of course I’ve done interviews in my underwear, hasn’t everyone? Come to think of it, one assignment involved being totally naked for while… I was writing about glamour photography and ended up having a firsthand experience involving a ‘romantic’ shot of me covered with nothing but lacy sheets and a smile! The story was great and the photos weren’t too bad either.
Life before copywriting
Before I was drawn to the exotic, lavish, and
action-packed lifestyle of writing for a living, I
spent my days cleaning up after animals – both as a mother and as a veterinary nurse. Hard work,
low pay, lots of unpleasant body fluids, but also an endless supply of cuddles and drooly faces (on both counts).
Best ever writing gig
I once reviewed five of Fiji’s newest 5-star resorts. Gosh it was hard work, all those massages (hence, clothing is optional…), cocktails, and sunset watching, but someone had to do it. And I’d do it again (seriously… Fiji, the Seychelles, Bora Bora,
I’m good to go).
Thing I refuse to write about (nope, not ever)
Anything that promotes cruelty or negligence of animals or that impedes on the rights of minorities including the LGBTIQ+ community.
If you’re anti-trans, homophobic, or xenophobic, then find another copywriter. On the other hand… if you want to hear about why I think being a mum to a rainbow kid is the best thing that ever happened to me, or see 574 photos of my Labrador Charlie (omg she’s so cute, honestly), then let’s have coffee.
